A heart to wear all year round

I saw it in a shop window, more than 20 years ago.
In a little town just outside of Munich, Bavaria, Germany

I just had to have it
It looks like it's been worn a lot...and so it has

This is how I would go about making this brooch

Cut a piece of cardboard into heart shape
Glue heart-shaped image onto card board
Glue heart-shaped piece of leather to back
Punch holes all around the 3 layers of the heart
Thread needle with colored suede and sew layers together
Glue clasp onto back

Add a few trinkets to the front

When I purchased this heart, the image was printed in black and white.  I hand colored it with watercolor pencils.  I noticed that all of exatmo hearts are now colored.  Did they see mine?

Happy Valentine's Day my dear blogging Friends
I wish you love this Sunday, this Monday and always.

Gina

  1. Charming pin. I love that you found it on a trip and have worn it ever since. The added painted touches are so sweet and bring the details alive. I love it; it is so unique.

  2. I think it looks lovely colored!
I don't think I ever came back to tell you that I never saw anything like the tablecloth you're interested in at my local market - the style seems to be colorful floral prints on mainly white background.

  11. Hi Gina...

Ohhh...your pendant is absolutely gorgeous! I can certainly see why you just "had to have it"! I traveled through Bavaria about 6 yrs. ago and loved each and every minute of my journey. The Bavarian couple really does remind me of my travels there! Thank you so much for sharing this lovely post with us for the Sunday Favorites repost party...it was a pleasure to have you join in with the fun!

    Warmest wishes,
