It's the weekend.

And it's great to be back.

Jet lag is a thing of the past.

It's time to celebrate with what is left in the garden.

Mon Bouquet du Jour.

Have a wonderful weekend my dear friends.

    1. Hello Marigene, I am so glad that you like these flowers. Those in the foreground are Annual Poppies. They are very easy to grow from seed.

  2. Glad that you have put the jet lag behind you Gina - it is great to go away, but equally enjoyable returning back home to check out the garden. When the last day of a holiday arrives that is when I begin looking forward to being back in my own home (and bed) again. Your bouguet du jour is especially pretty.

    1. Dear Rosemary, So true. I love to travel and see new places and experience the joy of making new discoveries. And then it is also so good to be home again. I am always so grateful for the few flowers that are left and have not frozen. I don't know why I don't grow more poppies. They are always there to welcome me back. Thank you for your visit.

  3. Dear Gina,
the close-up of your poppies is just great. I always love the interior of flowers, each variety is different.I do not know how I missed to comment on your last post.............with the wonderful photos in warm Tuscan earth tones. I looked up the Etruscans because the history lessons of old did not stick. Seeing their art in gold and frescoes of figures engaged in music and dance makes me wonder what we will leave behind.
Wishing you a beautiful Sunday, Sieglinde

    1. Dear Sieglinde, Same here. I like the single flower which almost always has a complicated interior. It is the faces of flowers that I love. Especially pansies whose faces seem to follow you as you work in the garden.
There is a fine Museum, the Museo Archeologico e Necropoli, in Tarquinia, which holds the finest collection of Etruscan statues and sarcophagi. The Museum is rated as 2nd only to the famous Cairo Museum in Egypt. The star attraction is on the mezzanine, a larger than life group of terracotta winged horses dating from the 4th century BC.

  4. It's good to have you back, Gina, and I enjoy (and have enjoyed in past postings) that you combine flowers with vegetables. Your bouquet du jour is a lovely pairing.

    1. Thank you Mark. It's great to be back. Aubergines are my favorite subjects. Their shiny dark skins mix well with most other colors.
