You can be an artist too.

No painting experience necessary.

These are goose eggs.
Chicken and duck eggs work well.

Ostrich eggs are even better.

Goose eggs are rolled in a batch of water that has been spiked with 3 different colors of nail polish.

The secret is to use sparkling nail polish.

I used sparkly red, gold and silver.

Line a dish with aluminum foil.  Add about 3" of water.  Spike with a few drops of nail color.
With a stick or needle lightly swirl colors.

Quickly roll egg over surface.
Let dry on a stick.

Refresh water mixture when nail polish is almost used up.

Our Lola is laying eggs right now.
I will share.

Try different color combinations.
Purple, grey and brown look like marble.

Happy Easter dear friends,

Gina

  2. Great idea Gina - that would be a lovely thing to do with young children too.

    1. Dear Rosemary, This technique is perfect for children. The method is so unpredictable that children delight in the outcome. It can get a little messy with the nail polish. Must wear gloves.

  3. Dear Gina,
Even if no painting experience is required one still has to be creative, and that you are.............
Love your presentation with Hellebore and Violets.

    1. Dear Sieglinde,
Goose eggs are not easy to hide. It takes tall grasses and lots of flowers and plants. The hard part is blowing out the eggs. The easy part is rolling them on top of colored water. I would love to see what you come up with.
