Greeting Cards

Make your own Cards

Background swirls made with piece of cardboard

Block Printed with old Computer Mouse pads

On a large plate, in a circle, squeeze out water based paints (at least 5 to 6 different colors). In the middle of the plate add a water based conditioner (Floetrol). With a torn piece of cardboard, about 3 inches wide, swirl colors and conditioner onto large sheet of ordinary paper.

When dry, cut into sizes appropriate for cards. Glue onto cards. Now you are ready to embellish further. Don't forget to sign your art.

  1. I'm not sure I get it: when and how does the computer mouse pad get used?

  2. Hi Francesca, the computer mouse pad was used in the last photograph. All of the images were stamped with different shapes cut out of the pad. I often incise the "blocks" to add detail. The block is painted with different colors and then stamped onto paper, fabric, walls, etc. It can be used over and over again until there is no paint left. Each time it makes a slightly lighter print, very unpredictable and therefore even more interesting. I use these blocks for many different applications.

  3. This is amazing! It doesn't look like anything that was made at home for sure.
Beautiful - thanks for showing it at THT.
