An Invitation

Come for a visit

Your cottage is ready

We can paint, we can cook, we can bake,
We can go for long walks,
We can drink a glass or two of champagne
You have kept me entertained,
I have shed a few tears, not many;  You have made me think
And you have made me laugh, you have given me great ideas
And for all those reason, I thank you

Happy New Year, my dear blogging friends

Love, Gina

  1. happy new year gina! I am sorry it has been so long since I stopped by. It was a very, very busy year. I see you made Stollen. I have my Mother in Law's recipe from Leipzig (with butter/sugar crust but no marzipan) but I have not tried it. Maybe I will put it on the list for next Christmas.

Someone just asked me what Capon was on Facebook and I channelled Gene for a moment there -- the castration story. One of those B&B moments I will never forget....

    xoxo lots of love.

  3. Dearest Gina,

Your invitation is one I am going to seriously think about. I would love to meet you, admire your art and tour your estate. Ooops- and also take a class. Or two.

You are one very talented lady. Cheers to 2011!

  4. Dear Diana, I'm so delighted to hear from you and to know that you are well. I have missed reading your beautiful blog posts.
That Stollen recipe from Leipzig will be one of the best. In the eastern part of Germany they really know how to bake a good one.
Gene and I wish you and Micha a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
I can't believe that we talked about capons. It's a good thing that Gene knows how to hypnotize them before the fact.
Please give that charming Max a great big hug for me.
    Love, Gene and Gina

  7. What a wonderful house! Reminds me on the "klassizistisch" houses build in the late 18th Century in Germany (Muenchen, Stuttgart, Berlin-Potsdam, Karlsruhe and Freiburg, just to name a few) which I love. I could move in!
And the pictures.....just stunning and wonderful!

My best wishes to you Gina for a very healthy
    HAPPY NEW YEAR
Einen guten Rutsch in ein gutes, vor allem gesundes und glueckliches Neues Jahr!

  9. Dear Karin, The great thing about my "Folly" (Guesthouse) is that it is separate from the Main House. It has great views from balconies in all directions. The Building Inspector suggested that I pattent the design. The building also holds 2 garages and a greenhouse. The most amazing part about my design is that the greenhouse heats my garage and if the door is left open to the 2nd story, heats the apartment as well.
    Guten rutsch ins Neue Jahr,
    Love, Gina

  10. Dear Georgianna, One of these days , dear Georgianna, you will have to come this way. Anytime but January. Right now it's 12 degrees outside. Your cameras would refuse to do their beautiful work.
Be well, be happy and have a great New Year.

  13. Dear Gina,

much thanks for your nice comment. If you plan to visit the alsace region you should drive to Kaysersberg, Eguisheim and Riquewihr too. These are very romantic little towns and villages in the alsace region and in the near of Ribeauville. And don´t forget Colmar. I´m sure it will be a real pleasure for you.
If you want to see more from Alsace you can go to my blog and in the right sidebar you can find some more trips to Elsass under the label "Frankreich/France". Enjoy it.

I wish you a happy new year,

    Tanja

P.S. The cottage in your picture is a dream! Is it yours? You must be a very lucky girl!!!

  14. Dear Tanja, After visiting Colmar last year we would like to get to know the Alsace region a little better. Thank you for the good tips. And I will follow up on the information from your blog.
Yes, that is our cottage. It is actually a separate building from the main house which houses, garages and greenhouse on the main floor. The upper floor is our Guest Cottage.
Happy New Year and may 2011 bring everything you wish for.
