Answer to the Puzzle

It's where the cattle hang out, rubbing their bodies against the fence.

Where he goes his girls are not far behind.

Have a great remainder of the week.

  1. Dear Gina,

I'm pretty sure I know what this is, but I'm going to sit this contest out and enjoy the comments of others. I just want to say, though, that ALL of your preserves look delectible! You obviously keep very busy!

    1. Dear Val, I believe this is more fun for me than anyone. Val, I love all of your answers. The runner line for squirrels is my favorite. It shows that you love animals and nature...which I knew already. Thank you for joining the fun.

  4. It's either an Alfalfa lick for squirrels, or an Alfalfa hiding place for them to 'squirrel away' their acorns - LOL!!!
Or a perch for birds............or maybe part of your eclectic Autumn decor!
The iron 'hook' is interesting too.
I've really no idea, but the guessing game is fun!

All I do know is your preserves look amazing and the labels are fabulous Gina!

Off today - gotta run now to be ready for the taxi to the airport.
    Hugs - Mary

    1. See what I mean, so much fun. What great ideas Mary, but no.
The images on my jars are taken from ceramics I have painted.
So exciting that you are flying to Europe today. Have a wonderful trip and be safe. ox, Gina

  5. Is it human made, animal or insect made - that is the question? I am going to opt for a rub that has been created by the cattle scratching themselves.

    2. Dear Gina - I can't believe that I got it right but when you didn't show my answer I began to suspect that it must be. It was just a sheer guess on my part.
I must talk seriously now Gina - you must not, and I insist on this, send me any of your wonderful, delectable, delicious preserves. Sending glass jars over the Atlantic is far too expensive and costly.
I am just very happy to have taken part in your fun puzzle.

  6. Dear Gina, this certainly sounds like fun especially the winning part of your most delicious preserves. The taste of your Red Currant Jelly
still lingers and I am keeping the empty glass jar with your artistic label on display. As far as your puzzling question is concerned, I wanted
to say it is the rope with wooden handles for walking on ice, but on closer inspection it looks different. Therefore, I challenge Mark to spill the
    beans.............. Greetings, Sieglinde

  7. Let me try again, now I think it`s a jungle gym for kids... at the picture below left there are the steel ropes .And for making the ropes more comfortable, they made these coconut fibre round them.Send the three jars to one of the best other answers...LOL Regards again,Katja

  8. This is my second attempt to publish my answer. I hope it doesn't show up twice. I think we are looking at a metal fence against which either horses or cattle have rubbed. The reddish mass we see is the compilation of the hair that the animals have rubbed off. mccannx5@hotmail.com

  9. Having grown up in a city (even though a smaller one!) I haven't seen anything like that and even though others have come up with some very interesting possibilities, all I can suggest is: it is a covering of a metal chain that would prevent injuries to animals that might be prone to rub up next to it??? Too bad that's all I can come up with - your jams look and I'm sure are the sweetest-tasting around - not to mention those very beautiful labels! Thanks for the offer - wish I could be more creative in my answer...

  10. Dear Mary, You almost came up with the correct answer. For a city girl you did very well.

  11. I sure would enjoy your jams, however, I would have never known what that was, in a hundred years ;) Fun!

  12. Hi Mary, Sheep do the same thing. So you already have a heads up on the next one. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I'll save a few extra jars for you and we'll have a bird question for the bird expert.

  13. Gina, I love the solution to the mystery photo. Flora and fauna...what a mixture of possible answers.

As a city person, I did not have a clue. xo
