    1. Dear Sieglinde, I was thinking of you while visiting the many small villages along the Romantic Strasse. Each and every village so festive and so full of the Christmas spirit. It was like celebrating many Christmases and all in one season.

    1. Dear Mark, Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Normally, I don't like to be away from home during the Holidays. The Herrnschlösschen changed all that. From the glass of champagne at arrival to the last kisses on the cheeks, it was all so very special.

    1. Dear Rosemary, How nice to know that I was missed, I know that I missed all of you who have become so dear to my heart. There will be postings but they never compare to the rest of the story...the smells and the sounds of Christmas in Europe.

  5. Back so soon? How I would take even a weekend over the Christmas time in Rothenburg! Germany has so many Christmas traditions that make the time extra special. My memories of 3 Christmases in Germany unfortunately didn't include that town, so your trip memories will be eagerly anticipated. Your animals must have missed you terribly - and your plants in the greenhouse, too!

    1. Dear Mary, Rothenburg is a very pretty town with thousands of tourists. But at Christmas time that doesn't matter...more people to celebrate with. Everyone was in the Christmas spirit. It was cold but the Glüwein kept us warm and happy. Two weeks was just right but being back home feels great. And, it is good to see our happy dogs who are always hopeful that we won't leave them in the kennel too long. .
