In case you have forgotten

Here is how

you paint Glass Balls for your Christmas Tree.

Paint simple designs onto glass balls with acrylic paints.
Attach wire and let dry.  It only takes a few minutes.

Simple dots and circles will help you get started.

Soon you will be painting little flowers.

Just remember to load several colors onto your brush at the same time.
That is how you get the variation of color in the pine needles.

Thin napkin paper glued onto glass balls works fine if you don't want to get paint on your fingers.

Use lots of different colors and don't forget white.

If you thin out the paint a little you can swirl colors inside the glass.

Get to your Five and Dime store soon because glass Christmas balls are only available for a few weeks before Christmas.

And have fun!

  1. I haven't forgotten! They are lovely but the hand painted tiles in the last photo are still my favorite. Enjoy the season Gina!

    1. Dear Theresa, I have finished the large consignment I have been working on. Sending the last tiles off this week. It feels good to finish this project and it feels good to deliver it when promised.
But you know all about that. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.

  2. Hi, Gina,

I'm guessing your ornaments made with glued napkin designs are a lot like decoupage. I'm curious to know, what sort of glue do you use? Do you thin a glue with water?

    1. Dear Mark, Exactly, a lot like decoupage. Only I used Elmer's glue, because that is what I had handy. I thinned the glue with a little water. It doesn't take much glue to make these thin napkins stick, especially if you spray them with a little sealer after they are dry.
