The Guest cottage revisited

What was not allowed into the house went across the courtyard...to our Guest Cottage

Old and new, repaired or left as is

From the Thrift Store,  a King Louis the XVI bed or is it King Louis the XIV?

Guests must have a full length mirror, we dress for cocktails

Flowers, Stripes, Plaids, just the way I like them

Gene built and carved this fine bench

And Gene carved this fine  table

There should be lots of books

It's nice if there is a small kitchen so guests can fix their morning coffee (and the host can sleep in)

You can hide things from your guests, such as the refridgerator behind curtains

A bathroom is a swell idea

It's all right to practice new color combinations on walls
Guest may not want to stay too long

And always Do remember the flowers

Gina

  1. I know paradise will be like this - I've never rested my head anywhere as beautiful, not even in Italy Gina!
I enjoyed several of your book collection offerings - which was awesome - and we even read some of the poems to each other!
Yes, the kitchen was a favorite corner - after the inky night sky full of stars, the sunny kitchen was a perfect spot for that morning coffee and your delicious biscotti.

    1. Dear Mary,

While perusing one of the books of Poetry did you find Oliver Wendell Holmes' (1809-1899) poem entitled "The Deacon's Masterpiece, or, The Wonderful One-horse Shay." (That came apart on Earthquake Day).

If not please see if you can find it. It might remind you of the incident of going less than a mile and my 30-year-old car refused to take us any further.

    1. Dear Lorrie, I love your last post. So many beautiful photos of perfect fruits and vegetables. Not many people still preserve their produce. It is hard work yet so rewarding. You deserve all of the accolades.
