Makes my heart sing.

A little color to brighten your day.

I give credit to the new soil.

Opium Poppies  (Papaver Somniferum)  grown from saved seeds.

Wishing you a happy and healthy remainder of the week,

Gina

  1. I recall you with all that fresh soil (your guessing game!) some months back Gina! Your flowers are beautiful and yes, I think it must be great soil to give you so many colorful gorgeous blooms. The poppies are awesome colors and blend together so well.

Wish I could be there again to view them and hug you. Do you realize it's exactly two years ago that Bob and I were with you! I'm looking back through my blog posts of those wonderful days at your home, recalling the kindness you showed us, the fun we had with you and dear G, my hospital visit for the darned kidney stone, the scenery, painting, taking photos, visiting your friends, eating your delicious food and drinking champagne. . . . . memories which I always enjoy so very, very much dearest Gina.

Thinking of you this week with love.
Mary (and of course Bob) XX

  2. Dear Mary,
A time when all was well. We thought that you and Bob were the perfect house guests. You never complained. Not when the car wouldn't start and not when we had to rush you to the hospital. That must have been your shortest Hospital visit ever.
Such sweet memories. Wish I could go back and do it all over again.

  3. What amazingly beautiful flowers you are growing. If fresh soil has that effect, I'll be adding some to my garden next year! I hope the flowers brighten your spirit as they do mine!

    1. Dear Lorrie,
I replaced all of the old soil with new potting soil. A lot of work and a lot of expense. But it was worth it.
In the fall I will add a little more fertilizer from a nearby dairy farm. A lot of the early flowers are spent and I am waiting to see how my late flowers (Asters) will do.

  4. Dear Gina - what a beautiful flower collage you have made with all of the glorious and colourful flowers from your garden. Summer may arrive late with you but you certainly do a great catchup job. It is very hot here currently, far too hot for me with the nights feeling decidedly tropical.

  5. Dear Rosemary,
Hot here as well. However, our nights are cool now, almost cold. The flowers are fading and my second crop will bloom very soon. It's taking me several years to rejuvenate my Asters from Lake Maggiore. I am anxious to see their colors.
