Sadie and the disappearing Slippers

A very special friend sent me these beautiful slippers

I have to hide them.

They are just as pretty on the inside

They are irresistible to Sadie.

I have to hide them.

See the yellow arrow?

  1. Such awesome slippers Gina - did you friend make such pretties? If Sadie loves them that much you may even require a better hiding place!

I think Sadie's twin was in the back yard of the house behind us yesterday! The owners of the property don't have dogs that I know of so it must have been a visitor. He/she was lovely - Bob called out to it but it was silent as it viewed us through the chainlink fence.

    1. My friend is a grandmother who brought her daughters and granddaughters for painting lessons. She lives in the big city and probably knows of a boutique shop who carries such niceties.
The hiding place was temporary...at least until I found the other sock.
Maybe your Golden Lab will come back for another visit.

  2. What gorgeous slippers - I would love something so pretty to wear. They look right at home among your pillows and quilts - and so does Sadie!

    1. Hi Patricia,
Some of my friends know that I will wear whatever pleases me. My motto, for a long time, has been too much is not enough".
Sadie is a young dog and a wonderful companion. Thank you for your visit Patricia.

  3. I am so attracted to pets - my eyes were focused 1st on SAdie and then on the tapestry pillow with the scene from the 5 Scents! I have a small tapestry I bought nearby the Cluny musée - perhaps I should sew a small pillow so I can see it more often and get it out of my desk drawer! Pretty clever of you to successfully hide that slipper. I lost 1 of a pair of new leather sandals I had purchased back in my university days when my dog, Millie, smelled it and decided to make it her own (I had never gotten to wear them once!). Very nice slippers!

  4. Dear Mary,
I hope that Sadie will get over the idea that everything is there for her to chew on. Several cashmere sweaters are now showing large holes.
The tapestry pillow is one of three. They used to be framed. All of them were stitched by my mother who was a superb tapestry artist. I am lucky in that I have several pieces which she made for me. She even copied a chair cover which had seen better days. It was one of 4 chairs which showed a lot of wear. You could not tell that it was a new cover because she matched the wool perfectly.
Yes, do take your tapestry out of your desk drawer and have a pillow made. It will remind you of your trip to France every time you walk past.
