Living off the Land

Goodness has it's own rewards

A trip to the garden yielded beautiful spinach, stopped by the chicken coop for brown eggs, headed for the cellar to last Falls' potatoes and onions, added a little cream and cheese ...

Mix it all together and bake ...

  6. Dear Lala, My wooden kitchen implements come from different local markets. One of my favorites is the quirl from Germany. It's like a little food processor, only easier to clean. The other favorite is the "chocolate maker" from Mexico. I don't know how they use it but I use it when making preserves to mash delicate fruit.

  7. Dear Theresa, Some of the best things in life are those that are so very simple to make. It is nice of you to take the time to comment. I look forward to every one of them.

  8. Hi Karena, Thanks for the heads up on your give-a-way. And thanks for coming over to my blog. I think that is why we write our blogs, so we can share and become aquainted with friends from all over the world.

  9. Dear Georgianna, There is so much space and land around us that it would be a shame if we didn't take advantage of it. Now that a few things are growing outside it is this life that we enjoy. We will be working hard for a few months and then it is off to Paris and Morocco.

  10. Dear Francesca, Yes, that is my stove top. The carved column you see is really a pre-cast cement fireplace part painted with acrylic paints. There are two of them that hold up the hood. The hood is a simple wooden structure, clad with a hand painted tile mural.
