Gorgeous flowers Gina - and such pretty vases. I've never tried cutting morning glories for the house - do they still curl and die within a morning like they do outside on the vine?
ReplyDeleteI have nothing worth cutting now, except more basil, and as we're leaving again in a couple of weeks, I'm just waiting until late Oct. to do any major gardening. I've bought new Spring bulbs (200) to plant - narcissus in the ground, tulips in large pots - that will keep me busy, along with much pruning and pulling out.

Dear Mary, The Morning Glory flowers do shrivel up but last at least a day. The vines do well in water but for flowers you have to add new stems every day. Since the flowers and vines are so prolific I don't mind cutting them every day.
DeleteBecause you still have basil maybe you can squeeze in making pesto before you go on your next sojourn. 200 bulbs will keep you busy planting but the rewards will be many.
Oh Gina, what glowing colors you have given to us! Those flowers and their sparkling vases suit each other so well. Your adding the morning glories to the mix is a brilliant idea.

Dear Sieglinde, My garden is benefitting from cooler nights and moderate temperatures during the day. It won't be long and everything will freeze. Often we have the first frost in the middle of September.
