Summer Flowers

It's still officially Summer

My rose bushes give up their blooms reluctantly.

Sweet Peas for late Summer evenings.

Morning Glories add just the right contrast.

Wishing you a great week.

    1. Bonjour Dear Martinealison,
It is obvious that we both love flowers. How nice of you to come by for a visit and leave such a lovely compliment. Have a wonderful remainder of the week.

  2. Gorgeous flowers Gina - and such pretty vases. I've never tried cutting morning glories for the house - do they still curl and die within a morning like they do outside on the vine?
I have nothing worth cutting now, except more basil, and as we're leaving again in a couple of weeks, I'm just waiting until late Oct. to do any major gardening. I've bought new Spring bulbs (200) to plant - narcissus in the ground, tulips in large pots - that will keep me busy, along with much pruning and pulling out.

Beautiful photos - I love the colors.
    Hugs - Mary

    1. Dear Mary, The Morning Glory flowers do shrivel up but last at least a day. The vines do well in water but for flowers you have to add new stems every day. Since the flowers and vines are so prolific I don't mind cutting them every day.
Because you still have basil maybe you can squeeze in making pesto before you go on your next sojourn. 200 bulbs will keep you busy planting but the rewards will be many.

  3. Oh Gina, what glowing colors you have given to us! Those flowers and their sparkling vases suit each other so well. Your adding the morning glories to the mix is a brilliant idea.

    1. Dear Frances, I love all open-faced flowers more than any other. Morning Glories have such vibrant colors. You can't miss them...they have a way of stealing the scene.
      Thank you for your visit.

  4. Lovely colours and images Gina - you have woven morning glories around your vase just like the great Dutch-masters did in the C16/17 on their still-life paintings

    1. Dear Rosemary, Thank you Rosemary for your kind words. Thank you also for your encouragement and help with "our" new camera. I now feel that I can take this camera on our upcoming trip because you have taken such fabulous photographs with yours.
Of course, I realize that the person taking the photos has a lot to do with the outcome of the photos.

  5. Dear Gina,
the colors of your photos are wonderfully vibrant and the Morning Glory in your first picture seems to glow from deep inside. My garden is just hanging in there with the relentless heat and I hope the promise of rain comes true along with some cooler days. How nice it would be........
    Warm greetings, Sieglinde

  6. Dear Sieglinde, My garden is benefitting from cooler nights and moderate temperatures during the day. It won't be long and everything will freeze. Often we have the first frost in the middle of September.
Hope you get some moisture so that you can enjoy your garden once again.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.

    1. Hello Olivia, Thank you for stopping by. The roses in this bouquet have faded but the morning glory keeps blooming with a new flower every morning.
