ReplyDeleteI like tulips best when they begin to reach in all directions as the one does moving toward the pretty framed tile of blue and yellow in your top photo. You have such lovely varieties of tulips and I do hope they will all come up again in the spring.

Dear Sieglinde, I planted so many new tulip varieties last fall and now I can't wait to see them. I have even planned our trip to Portugal so that I won't miss the Daffodils and Tulips.

DeleteBeautiful tulips, heralds of spring. It will be some time before they appear here in Normandy but happily we already have bright yellow daffodils to bring us sunshine. Have a wonderful time in the pousadas of Portugal. We have happy memories of our stay at the Pousada Palacido de Queluz close to Lisbon.

DeleteHow lucky you are to already have daffodils. It will be months before I see them in my garden. Even though it's been many years, I still remember the beautiful Pousada Palacido de Queluz. In fact, I left a pair of very expensive shoes under the bed and they were kind enough to send them to me in America.

Oh my word those are gorgeous -- and I'm talking about both the colorful tulips and the way you arranged" them in your mosaics. So colorful; I love these. (I'm in Florida, where we have floral color even this time of year, but we never ever see tulips and daffodills -- it's too hot for typical spring flowers and I miss them. So I always love seeing beautiful pictures. Memories of our past life in the Pacific Northwest (but I don't think I ever grew any as gorgeous as yours here.)
ReplyDeleteHello Sallie, You are correct. It takes very cold months for Tulips and Daffodils to grow and be beautiful. I know that people have tried to pr-cool them in refrigerators. It works for some bulbs but they never look as glorious as when they are grown in colder climates.
