Can you tell, I have the wanderlust.

I noticed that the flower beds in France

have taken on a new look.

A thing of the past are rows upon rows of marigolds and petunias lined up in perfect soldier-like fashion.

Nowhere else was this more evident than in the small town of St. Emilion, Bordeaux Region, France.

St. Emilion, tucked away in hills and beautifully cared for vineyards, is the perfect place from which to enjoy the Bordeaux wine country.

Well cared for vineyards and tidy streets connect cobbled small squares,  and well stocked wine shops.

Of the Bordeaux's famous red wines, St. Emilion Reds represent 5% of the regions total production.

A souvenir from St. Emilion for my Thanksgiving Table.

Have a great weekend  my dear friends.

  1. Oh yes, nothing compares to French villages - they are so full of history and beauty around each corner. I'm missing them too and would love to return to my brother's village (pop. 1400) in the Languedoc - I really miss it and loved being there several yearas at grape harvesting time which is about now.

However, right now, sadly they're in lockdown yet again as they were exposed to COVID when visiting their daughter in Toulouse! Nobody seems to be ill but a friend tested positive.

    Beautiful tablecloth Gina, so YOU!!!!

    1. Dear Mary,
How sad for your family to be on lockdown again. This crazy virus just won't let go. However, I am fully convinced that even this will pass and we can make travel plans again.

  2. Dear Gina - I have also visited St. Émilion several times, having stayed close by a few years ago. It is a lovely small French town with several great attractions, including the wine of course. Your great photos show it off beautifully. Love your tablecloth which must look most attractive for your Thanksgiving celebrations.

    1. Dear Rosemary, We knew immediately that this town was different. As you probably already know many Brits have made St.Emilion their home. We just missed a rainstorm which made everything shiny and bright.
My tapestry was purchased in a most beautiful little shop. Wish I could go there again.

  3. Dear Gina, What a lovely little virtual visit to a French village. We've not visited St. Emilion, but I think I've loved every village in France we have visited. Beautiful photos evoking the warmth of summer.

    1. Dear Lorrie,
So true. Every little French village is fascinating and charming. I have always loved driving without plans and just go from one beautiful place to another.
