Summer Colors

My Tuberous Begonias  are more than 20 years old, never re-potted or given special care.

Dwarf Zinnias provide lots of color

Salpiglossis come in many colors, even black.

Shade is always welcome.

Wishing you a great Summer,

Gina

  1. So happy your flowers are still blooming dear Gina - the awesome colors take my breath away!
I did get your email and will write again soon, promise! Heat and drought of summertime has brought lethargy this year - I long for autumn now. XX

  2. Dear Mary, for the first time, in many years, we are having a good growing season. I have a bumper crop of beautiful Interlaken grapes...still trying to figure out how to keep them safe from racoons.

  3. Dear Gina - when I visited your blog to see your post "Re-visiting" I realised that I had missed this one. Your property must always be a joy to see at this time of year with the huge variety of wonderful flowers and their exquisite colours and all grown by you.
Shade has been important here as the summer has been stiffling. Week after week of hot weather without any rain.
At last this week we had a terrific downpour, and I have never been so grateful to receive some rain - when I opened the door to the outside the smell that the garden was giving off was one of sheer gratitude too.
Thank you for your email - I will write back very soon.

    1. Dear Rosemary, If isn't one thig than it is another. After many years of no rain we have finally received a moderate amount. However, a late frost took all of our fruit. I do have a wonderful crop of Interlaken grapes. Now I'm standing guard to discourage raccoons from stripping the fruit as they have done in the past.
