Dear Mary, for the first time, in many years, we are having a good growing season. I have a bumper crop of beautiful Interlaken grapes...still trying to figure out how to keep them safe from racoons.
ReplyDeleteDear Gina - when I visited your blog to see your post "Re-visiting" I realised that I had missed this one. Your property must always be a joy to see at this time of year with the huge variety of wonderful flowers and their exquisite colours and all grown by you.
ReplyDeleteShade has been important here as the summer has been stiffling. Week after week of hot weather without any rain.
At last this week we had a terrific downpour, and I have never been so grateful to receive some rain - when I opened the door to the outside the smell that the garden was giving off was one of sheer gratitude too.

Dear Rosemary, If isn't one thig than it is another. After many years of no rain we have finally received a moderate amount. However, a late frost took all of our fruit. I do have a wonderful crop of Interlaken grapes. Now I'm standing guard to discourage raccoons from stripping the fruit as they have done in the past.
