Snow is melting

 

View to the East and out of my kitchen window, 

Horseshoe Mountain holds our water source 

for the entire growing season.

We need more snow. 

Have you spotted the horse yet?

Ground is still frozen. 

 Hellebore are blooming in a protected corner 

and so are a few Snowdrops

My little Fig tree is waking up. It's amazing how hardy this little tree is. 

Every Summer it produces dozens of delicious figs.

The following was first published on

It all began in July of 2009.  Have no idea what possessed me.

I think that I was walking in my garden,

 early one morning, with coffee cup in hand.

When it occurred to me that I wanted to share with you

Our life in the country

with creatures great and small. 

Building a new house. 

Share with you my passion for growing flowers.

Inside 

and Out.

Many recipes from my kitchen.

And painting recipes for walls.

And ceilings.

Easter Eggs.

Christmas Ornaments.

And printed paper.

The happy day I bought this rubble, 

for $500 cash.

and turned it into a treasure.

Travels to Europe

And exotic places.

Painting at the Scuola d' Arte in Deruta, Italy.

Painting ceramics.  So, so many and now almost forgotten.

All sent off, never to see again, 

hopefully making new owners happy.

So grateful to each and everyone of you.

This is the time of year

When I get very jealous.

It is icy and freezing outside.

No flowers in my garden.

I don't know why I worry about Clyde

 For weeks now, Clyde has been courting 

a young Wild Canadian Goose.

He is even teaching her how to pull extra delicious morsels 

from the bank of the pond

You know that Canadian Geese mate for life. 

Clyde has never been concerned about that. 

Clyde (white goose) has plenty to choose from.

Did he pick the same goose which he courted last year?

Last year he pretended that the goslings were his. 

Maybe this coming Spring he doesn't have to pretend

The entire flock flew away in the Fall and left Clyde behind because he can not fly. 

She came back early, by herself. They are now inseparable 

Maybe this year is the year.
