Snow

 New snow every morning

Aren't we lucky

To the house, looks a lot closer than it is.

It gets farther and farther away when you begin shoveling

Even white inside

Days are short

Wishing you a great week ahead,

Snow and snow some more

More snow coming

Happy Snow Days,

iIt's 14 degrees this morning

Fourteen Degrees Fahrenheit is minus Ten Degrees Celsius

This is what I came home to.

I left for Italy knowing that I had plenty of time to  put the Summer away.

It's only November. It's supposed to look like this.

Will the Papyrus survive?

First night home this happened.  It came crashing down  at 2 o'clock in the morning.  Miraculously,  it missed the house, windows and balustrades. When trees still hold their leaves,  and when it snows branches get very heavy.  Not a good recipe for hundred year old trees.

Happy days to you.

Snow is melting

View to the East and out of my kitchen window,

Horseshoe Mountain holds our water source

for the entire growing season.

Horseshoe Mountain elev. 11,000 Thousan Feet.

We need more snow.

Have you spotted the horse yet?

Ground is still frozen.

Hellebore are blooming in a protected corner

and so are a few Snowdrops

My little Fig tree is waking up. It's amazing how hardy this little tree is.

Every Summer it produces dozens of delicious figs.

Have a great week dear friends.

Snow, the Artificer

Many reasons to celebrate.

After many months of no moisture, it finally snowed.

It snowed for 2 days.

And more snow is coming

Evening light. Snow is falling in the mountains.

That is where it is needed.

Today is a good day.
Vaccines are arriving.

The Weatherman was right

It did snow.

They say that there is more to come.

I can now undecorate my tree.
I had to see it one more time, with snow.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

Tulips say the darndest things.

Don't they.

They stretch and grow in all directions.

They are talking to you.

They keep on growing. Don't they know that part of them was left behind?

Some like to show off their faces.

And some like to hide their faces.

Will they come up again this Spring?

They will have to work very hard to come through all this snow.

Have a wonderful weekend dear friends,
and stay warm.

My World

Contrasts

It's been a few years since we have had this much snow.

Still below freezing every day.

Piles of snow are getting higher and higher.

When it melts it can all flow into the pond.

No picnics under the picnic tree.

But soon, doors will be open wide.

The January thaw has come and gone.

There will be new grass.

The air is sharp and crisp.

I'm painting and waiting for my daffodils to poke their heads through the snow.

Have a most wonderful weekend my dear friends.

Waiting for Spring

It will be a while .

Knowing that my Snowdrops and Hellebore are waiting makes me happy.

Pansies were planted last Fall.  They will be the first to bloom.

Friends brought lemons from their grove in California.

Jonquils will make an appearance soon.

A lot of snow will have to melt first.

Our mountains have received record amounts of snow.
Our Farmers are happy. There will be plenty of water for animals and crops.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

This does not look like winter to me.

Even the Canadian Geese are confused

Most of them have left to wherever Canadian Geese go in the winter.
Only a small flock has decided to stay.

It's supposed to look more like this by now.

I'll pretend that last year's daisies are this year's snow.

In addition to our 3 domestic (white) Geese, there is, for the first time ever, an impostor.

He thinks that he is a goose, and maybe he is.

Have you spotted him?

Now you can see him.
I wonder what kind of goose he is.
Do you know?

Have a great week my dear friends.

Are you staying warm?

They're warm.

They're wearing expensive fur coats.

I'm leaving mine in the closet.
We are heading South of the Border, and soon.

Have a great weekend my dear friends.

Let us out!

We are ready to be planted outside.
We are ready to dazzle.
But wait, maybe we should reconsider;

nothing but WHITE.

Hellebore don't mind.

For now we can wait inside.

And keep "The Painter" company.

Have a great remainder of the week my dear Friends.
