Have you ever wanted to be an Artist?

Yes?  Then here is how.

I know that some of you, dear Readers, have set aside a few clear glass balls.

If not, then get yourself to the Craft Store.
This is the only time of year that they are available.

While there, pick up a few acrylic paints,
don't forget white.
Simple instructions here:

They make great Christmas presents.

Also pretty in a glass jar.

Practice on wooden hearts.
(from the craft store)

They come in handy when wrapping presents

Hand painted glass ornaments are so pretty on a Christmas tree.
They harmonize beautifully with your older and cherished
 decorations.

Have fun painting. Invite a few friends and have a party,

Twirl, twist and roll.

To create one-of-a-kind.

Christmas tree ornaments.

All you need are clear glass balls, acrylic paints and water.

Mix acrylic paints with a little water and squirt a small amount into (the inside) and at the top of the glass ball.

I use old bottles that have very little paint left in them.

Thin to a consistency so that the paint covers the inside of the glass easily.  Rotate ball covering only a small portion at a time.

Repeat with next colors until the inside is covered all around.

Let dry upside down on paper towels.

3 to 4 different colors is all you need.

They look great with the rest of your Christmas decorations.

Happy creating.

Hand painted glass Christmas Ornaments - how to

You can paint circles and dots, right?

And a few leaf shapes, right?  That's all there is to it.

Cover old plate with wet paper towel, squeeze out different colors of  acrylic paints, the more the better

Paint circles, dots and leaf-shaped images onto clear glass balls,
hang with wire on doorknobs  (or anything else you can rig up) until dry

Use lots of colors and don't forget to highlight with white paint

If you decide that you need to see one of my hand painted Christmas Ornaments in person, a few are on deck in my Etsy Shop.
