Tiny Items get the most Attention

I painted these tiny ceramic plates to see if it could be done. The plates only measure 1.5 inches in diameter. See the diamond ring? The little plates had no home, and then . . . . .

I spotted this lovely and old Italian frame. A perfect marriage.

  1. Oh, these are so beautiful - and the frame is absolutely perfect!!! Did you have to use a magnifying lens to paint these?

    Wonderful job!

  2. Hi Tesoro, It was an exercise, didn't use a magnifying glass, but concentrated with each paint stroke. It helps that I am nearsighted and can get real close to the subject.

  3. I love the miniature painting! I'm going to try painting some tiny eyes for a project I'm working on, but I think I'll just make them as "dots": I don't feel that I could ever get them right otherwise:(

  4. Hi Francesca, Thank you for the compliment. Dots for eyes will work well, just paint the dots right next to the upper eyelid . . no space inbetween.
