Hand crafted glass Christmas Ornaments - how to, Part II

So you say you can't paint

You don't have to.  Instead tear up very thin napkins (MacKenzie type)

Partially cover clear glass balls with colored tissue paper

Use Elmers glue or similar

Now add a few colored dots here and there

And/Or

Pour one acrylic paint color at a time into clear glass ball and swirl in all directions.

See, I got you to paint after all.

  1. This is a nice and funny post. I'd love to try one day both methods, the hand painted, and the paper napkin one: both give beautiful results.

  2. LOL! Yes, you did! It is time to get those holiday crafts made, isn't it? (Carolina's class was life changing...you would only be better for having taken her class!)

  4. Dear Theresa, Wouldn't a few "grottesca" designs be sensational painted onto Glass Ornaments? What a treasure that would be!

  5. Yeah- I can even do these!

I think I am going to host an ornament painting party. All based on your posts. Wish me luck! I'll send you pics, but you have to promise not to laugh!

  7. I have been enjoying your series on Christmas ornaments...your hand painted ones are gorgeous...don't think I could do that but love the idea of using the torn napkins...I will give it a try. So much beauty here...always a delight to visit you Gina.

  8. Dear Jermaine, Yes, do start out with the paper decorated ornaments. I think that you will love them. The entire ornament does not have to be covered. That is where the little white dots come in. And before you know it you will add a few more colors.
