Calling on my drafting skills.

learned so many years ago

at the Topographic Drafting School in Erfurt, Germany.

Who doesn't like blue and white sprinkled with a little yellow and orange?

What makes this mural so special, besides the pretty colors, is that the tiles can be arranged in such a way that it will fit a square space measuring 30 x 30 inches.

OR

it can also be installed to fit a rectangular space and measure 36 inches wide by 24 inches tall.

How clever is that?

All available in my Etsy Shop.

Have a great remainder of the week.

Thank you so very much for stopping by.  It is always so appreciated,

Gina

  2. Gina, the tiles are lovely. Yes, blue and orange are complimentary colors and your design makes wonderful use of that aspect. Your math calculations are somewhat similar to those I figure out when planning some knitting designs. It's great to have a design with dimensions that have multiple possibilties.

    1. Dear Frances, I have always liked blue and yellow and orange, but only if it has a lot of white. No wonder the typical Delft designs have been popular for several centuries.
As you know I have always admired your knitting skills.and your original use of design and color.

  3. Your tiles, and all the other beautiful items you create and paint, are so gorgeous Gina. If I ever am able to start anew in my kitchen I would love to have a backsplash designed by you! I just the know the years of training to produce such perfect ceramic pieces must have been very hard, and your efforts certainly diligent. However, know you loved every moment because you are a true artist!

Hope the winter weather is fading and signs of spring are beginning to peek out from the earth.
Have a wonderful weekend - are you settled in again after your trip and back to normal now?
    Hugs - Mary

    1. Dear Mary, When my Father first sent me to drafting school I was not pleased. And making maps was not what I had in mind for myself. Luckily my life took me in a different direction and low and behold the old skills have served me well when working with hand painted ceramics.
Not much is happening in the garden. Still too early. Almost back to normal after our sailing adventure.

    1. Dear Val, I remember entire building facades and interior walls decorated with beautiful Portuguese Azaleos. I need to come back and visit Portugal again so that I can admire some more.

    1. Sounds like a good idea. I am so delighted that you are sharing your art in your new Etsy shop. Of course I had to own a few pieces and they are beautiful.
