    1. Dear Lorrie,
Hope is such a fleeting thing...it disappears when things go wrong. Like you I'm full of hope for 3021. I wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year.

    1. Dear Rosemary,
Thank you for your sweet message. I'm already making plans for a trip to Italy in September. I think that it will be safe to travel by then. Making plans gives me hope and traveling and seeing new sights and meeting new people is exactly what the Doctor ordered.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

  4. Dearest Gina, just like you we too are full of hope for a better year ahead. This past one has worn us all down, mentally and physically, is so many ways. We are now looking forward with renewed hope that 2021 will soon make the big U-Turn and bring us around to a healthier and happier road ahead. . . .which will include planes, ships and such so we can travel again!
Meanwhile, let's all stay positive in thought, use winter to get things done at home, and set our sights on the wonderful days ahead.
Stay well dear - sending love and wishes for a very good New Year for you especially.

  5. Dear Mary,
I thank you for always writing such heartfelt messages.
After losing my very special Mr G nothing has really mattered. Not the Corona Virus and not how it has affected every day life. New problems arise all the time and I have had to learn how to take care of them. Yesterday the gate at the top of the lane wouldn't open. There was no way for me to get out. Thank goodness that I live in a small town. The city electrician came immediately (on his holiday) and fixed the problem. So what I have learned is that it is important to know who to call.
I'm also looking forward to traveling and I'm going to make it happen.

  6. Wishing all good things for you this year, Gina. The local electrician has probably been a friend of yours for some time and knew when you called, it was important. Kindness is so important and needed so much. Hopefully, we will soon be receiving many good snippets of positives from which our country can benefit. Planning your garden and a future trip provides a future to eagerly anticipate. Love to you and those beautiful future flowers!

P.S. I just finished the first in the series of Great Creatures Large & Small by James Herriot! I loved it and I am looking forward to the PBS Masterpiece reproduction of the series I missed the first time around!

  7. Dear Mary,
I also loved reading James Herriot's book. It was a long time ago but I still remember it well. It's probably a good time to read it again.
We need to talk sometime. We can do that by linking in to my Etsy shop. Just click on the small Etsy square at the top of my blog "Art and Alfalfa" and leave a message on any item.
