A Miracle

Will it work Part II

 It's just a little stick

He showed me how to prepare a grape branch for grafting

It is an especially sweet grape

growing in the fertile soil, under spewing  Mt Etna Volcano.

We walked through the vineyard, always aware of the smoke rising from Mt Etna

See the rocks at the base of the barrels?

Mt Etna volcano reminds everyone who is  in charge.

And what about that stick?

It came home with me to give to my neighbor who is going to graft it onto his grape stock.

What else do you give a neighbor who has taken such good care of my animals  and property while I was having a grand time in Italy.

And now my neighbor has achieved the almost impossible.

That dried up old stick I carried around with me has come back to life.

Salute

Nothing, nothing at all

flowers are hiding under the snow

All photos from my 2021 garden

They are still sleeping

No flowers for the house.

Even too cold for pansies.

Not even a Hellebore in sight.

When are they going to show their faces?

There is only this

and nothing more

Enjoy your flowers,

mine will come soon enough

Wondering where to go this Summer

Why not consider this secret little spot?

Where horses are ready to take your for a ride,

their face made of velvet

The Hotel Gasthof Metzgerei Keindl is a good place to start y our journey.

But where is this place you say?

There are two little towns. Oberaudorf and Niederaudorf.
You will find them hidden in a valley between Munich and Innsbruck.

Not so far from the Alps.

The church is tiny but it's treasures within are formidable.

When the cows come back from the mountains they always stop first by  this fountain.

Internet
They do this every night.

Internet
They spend their days in the mountains. This is where you can hike to your heart's content.

Or you can stay in the valley visiting the Kloster Reisach in Unteraudorf.
There are walking and bicycle routes everywhere.

A fine Konditorei awaits you in Oberaudorf.

Internet
Cafe Luckner (das Torten Paradies)
serves great coffee, fabulous ice cream, finest chocolates and oh, those amazing cakes.

Internet

She's got it made.

One thing I could never  figure out is where
Niederaudorf and where Oberaudorf belong on the map.
But they are so close together that it doesn't matter.

Auf Wiedersehen

Stay well dear friends,
Gina

Snow

 New snow every morning

Aren't we lucky

To the house, looks a lot closer than it is.

It gets farther and farther away when you begin shoveling

Even white inside

Days are short

Wishing you a great week ahead,

Gina

Happy New Year

May this coming year be the very Best

Wishing you an abundance of health and happiness.

Happy New Year
