Gone to the Parade on his classic Ford Jubilee (1953) Tractor

Utah celebrates Pioneer Day.

Pioneer Day commemorates the first day Mormon Pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847

In our little town everyone is welcome to enter the parade.

Our very own Horse Whisperer, Tennessee, takes his mules and wagons all over the United States.

Hard working Mules are preferred around these parts.

Our friend Craig and his monster 1937 tractor.

And there he is waving to his adoring public.

May each day be a very special day for you.

  1. Mr.G looks extremely happy riding his Ford Jubilee Tractor Gina - what a thought, I am older than the tractor, but fortunately nothing like as old as Craig's monster.

    1. Dear Rosemary, Wish I could say that. I'm much closer in age to that old 1937 tractor. Just like the old tractor I'm still running and I'm still doing the work that is expected. Keeping fingers crossed.

  2. Dear Gina,
A great looking gentleman, your Mr. G., with his hat and polished boots. Always with a smile for the lovely lady behind the camera. Just wonderful to see, each time you present him. The Llama is too cute!

    1. Dear Sieglinde, My gentleman farmer loves his tractor. They both know how to work. Nary a day goes by that the tractor or the gentleman is not called upon to do some major or some minor work.
There was another Llama in the parade. It was black and very unruly. They have the strangest temperament.

  3. What a joy it is to see the photographs of this year's Pioneer Parade. Your husband does the parade proud with his magnificent vehicle and wonderful smile! (Of course, the other participants are great, too.)

    1. Dear Frances, Our Pioneer Parade gets better and better every year. It begins with the Sheriff announcing that breakfast is being served in our park. You can hear his sirens making the rounds through every street, every house. That is at 7:00 am. It's a great way to visit with your neighbors and catch up with everyone.

Gene looked great on his tractor.
The Old Geezers really made the parade extra fun! xoxo

    1. Dear Gwen, It was also wonderful to see you at the Parade. Come for a visit and we can talk about how you really need a tractor for your new country house.

  5. I scrolled up and down, it must be such a joy to participate in that Parade and your husband clearly enjoys it with his Ford Jubilee. This does remember me to my father who had a Fordson Major (Blue Heron) when I was young. I also love to see the old wagons with mules and your own Horse Whisperer and even a llama on the parade. It must have been great fun! Thank you for sharing this.

  6. Gina I always love this annual post about the fun and games at your Pioneer Day celebration, and as always G on his vintage tractor looks so dashing!
I spy some hollyhocks in your beautiful garden - looks like the sunny days are perfect for blooms and parades, yippee!

    1. Dear Mary, Our little town really enjoys putting a parade together. Even if it is only a Dachshund and a Llama walking down the street with their proud owner.
My hollyhocks are not very special this year. Must get busy growing new plants. Thank you for visiting. It is so appreciated.
