It's that time of year again when I get lots of questions about my hand painted glass Christmas ornaments.
Here is How to
Dip the paper in glue and attach to glass ball.
Attach a wire hanger and let dry.
Spray with clear Sealer.
Almost all napkins come apart into several layers.
Little once like to be involved.
Clear plastic hearts and balls are available in craft stores.
They are safe to use for the younger group.
Have fun.
If you don't want to get out the paints
and want to do something different.

Tear up very thin napkins (MacKenzie type) into smaller pieces.
Cover (modge podge style) clear glass balls with colored tissue paper.
Use thinned out Elmer's glue or similar.
You can even make a very thin paste of flour and water.

These napkins come in layers. Only use the top layer.
The thinner the paper the more malleable it is.

These are beautiful! Thank you for sharing the directions. I'm pretty sure I have some lovely napkins that would be great for this craft.
ReplyDeleteHello Cynthia,
DeleteWhen you make some with your napkins, will you please share them with us. Your visit is so appreciated.
It is always lovely to see your beautiful Christmas baubles - your whole house must look really spectacular during the Christmas season Gina.
ReplyDeleteDear Rosemary,
DeleteNow I feel so guilty because I haven't done much. But then I tell myself that Christmas is still a couple of weeks away. Thank you for your visit and comment.
What beautiful ornaments you've created, Gina. The ones with the napkins would be something to try with my grandchildren, although they are still young. Your house is sure to be a feast for the eyes. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteDear Lorrie,
DeleteThe napkin Christmas decorations are easy to do even for the very young. Especially when you use clear plastic ornaments. The glue is water soluble and is easily removed from little sticky fingers. Have fun baking all of your traditional cookies.
Wow, the painted glass ornaments are gorgeous. So colorful, they look lovely on the tree! Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen,
DeleteThe glass ornaments are easy to make. Simple shapes, painted onto glass, with acrylic paints makes for quick and easy little treasures. Thank you for your visit and thank you also for leaving a comment.
Fabulous artwork! Wow!
ReplyDeleteHi Betty,
DeleteThank you for dropping by and leaving a comment. The hardest part about this project is finding either glass or plastic ornaments.
Gina - a very clever idea. Next year, I am hoping to start a weekly craft group, and I am starting to collect ideas. This would be perfect for a late November, early December activity. Now, can you tell me how you made the first picture sparkle? Thanks for sprinkling some glitter on Mosaic Monday this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Angie,
DeleteYou have a great idea for putting together a weekly craft group. Start looking for ornaments right now. They are only available this time of year.
Google surprised me by adding the falling snow/sparkle on several of my photos. Google "How to add falling snow to photographs" you will get lots of easy-to-follow instructions. Just pick the effect you like best.
What a great idea and the result is stunning! Happy MM.
ReplyDeleteHello Ritta,
DeleteHope you give this simple and very easy idea a try. You can be as messy as you like with the thinned out glue and it will still look great.
