Let me begin where I left off.

  It was still winter.

When my life changed.

And then the first bouquet from my garden,

Easter came and went

Little Sadie, a Golden Labrador arrived.

She had me fooled right from the start.

Daffodils and Tulips were next.

Daffodils reaching for skies so blue.

And Sadie is growing like a weed.

Lilacs didn't freeze this year.

Sometimes friends, sometimes not.

A sheltered spot is still needed.
The winds are fierce.

Daisies are back.
The garden is planted. Another garden year has begun.

Take care dear friends.

  1. The earth turns and seasons pass even as our lives are rocked by events that change us forever. May you find solace and comfort in the beauty of your garden. Praying for peace. Hugs, Lorrie

    1. Thank you dear Lorrie for your comforting words. They are so appreciated.

  2. Dear Gina - it is so lovely to see you here again. The merry-go-round of life from time to time stops us in our tracks, but your observations show clearly how everything continues regardless - dear little Sadie has turned into a beautiful dog, and the barren snowlands have turned lush again. Take care of yourself dear friend.

    1. Dear Rosemary,
Thank you. It is nice to be back. I'm staying busy and that helps. So far Sadie has been a lot of work with few rewards. But she can be sweet and there is hope that she might become a good companion.

  3. Bob and were talking yesterday and saying we hoped Sadie was taking good care of you - my goodness, she has has really grown since you shared the last photos Gina. . . . . and she is so beautiful. Love the pic of her with Pasha, and happy knowing they get along at least some of the time! It's looking lovely there as the garden is reborn in the now warming days and golden light. Bet the the pond has been busy with new ducklings and goslings, and your veggies are starting to grow. . . . . . . . . I still try to get my quiche to taste as good as your
version but know now it was all due to your fresh picked greens and of course your special touch in that beautiful kitchen!

Gina dear, know we are thinking of you often and wish you a peaceful summertime surrounded by the beauty of home, the fragrance, colors and bounty of the garden, and the love, caring, and nearness of family and friends.
    Love, Mary

    1. Dear Mary,
Welcome home. Sorry to hear that you caught another airplane cold. One can almost never avoid them. Hope you are feeling better by now.
I don't even know how I made that famous quiche. Probably with lots of cream, cheese and butter. I seldom use a recipe so trying to duplicate it will not be possible But what we can do is have you come back for a visit and we can give it a try.
Sadie is still a puppy with puppy habits. They say it will take another year before she can become a real friend. That is discouraging.

  4. Gina, this makes me so happy! You are grieving in the best possible way. Uncle Gene was right there with you planting your garden and potty training Sadie.....what a beautiful pup! Love you so much and I’m so proud to call you family!!!

    1. Dear Jill,
I think of you so often. How elated I was when I heard the good news. Congratulations! You have always been very special to us. I wish you the very Best...a life of love and happiness.
Our house is not so far out of the way when you have to travel to and fro. Please stop by.
      Love, Gina
