What is it?

Can you guess what it is?

It weighs 3,500 pounds.

Any Ideas?

It arrived by trailer from the big city and then was brought down the lane by a big construction forklift.

Thank you dear Family.

  1. May be fertiliser or top soil - alternatively perhaps you are going to do some building work and need sand or cement.

    1. Dear Rosemary,
Yes it is. Potting Soil. You have to be a gardener to get excited about a sack full of dirt. Thank you for playing along.

  2. Gina, I'm guessing building materials such as blocks, rocks or concrete mix to . . . . . . . .

    1. Build something new and awesome in the garden
    2. Fix something at the fountain
    3. Build something at the pond - such as a low wall to sit on, or a diving board for the ducks and geese!!!!!

Bob's guessing seed (that's a heck of lot of veggies say I!!!), or fertilizer for the alfalfa field!

    Can't wait to find out.

    1. Dear Mary,
What great projects you have in mind for me. I splurged on 7,000 pounds of potting soil. The old soil will go to the edges of the pond (you were right, a wall) where reinforcement is needed. Interestingly, Bob, our large field to the north and west is being re-seeded in Alfalfa as I write.

    3. Dear Mary,
No worries. I will have lots of help once the planting season begins. I hope I have enough. And if there is some left over, that is all right too. I like seeing a big heap of soil ready to go.

  3. Since it's outside, I'm guessing it's fertilizer for your garden. Otherwise I would guess clay for art.

    1. Dear Lorrie,
You were almost right. It is actually potting soil enhanced with a healthy dose of fertilizer. I can't wait for it to get a little warmer so that I can have fun with it. For now the ground is still frozen.

  5. OK - I had guessed you had ordered a concrete scupture or small fountain. But then, I noticed the bag was a little transparent and one could see it looked more like something more fluid as a curve was visible (!)

    1. Dear Mary, A fountain would have been a good idea. However, it was just a big bag of dirt. Now begins the work.
