Instant Gratification

Or Almost

Paperwhites for Christmas.

In the Spring I plant Sunflower seeds and watch them grow.

In Winter I plant Paperwhites and watch them grow.

And Grow.

And grow some more.

I can bring in Nasturtiums from my little Greenhouse.

And my Orchids are throwing new Spikes.

Winter is not so bad after all in Utah.

Don't worry, don't fret, it'll all get done.

Have a great week my dear Blogging Friends.

Gina

  2. Gina, you've made me smile with your "don't fret" words, as I continue to fill my free hours with Christmas preparations that I so enjoy.

I do have my initial crop of paperwhites underway, and think some might bloom next week.

Also finishing up my handpainted cards, and lots of knit and crochet gifts. Mixed up sugar cookie dough this evening, that will be cut into star shapes and baked tomorrow. No fretting! xo

  4. Dear Theresa, It's not too late. Don't wait till next year. Bulbs are still available in garden shops. I will plant a few more in a couple of weeks. If you can't find them I will ship a few to you after the first of the year.
And Theresa, thank you so much for your lovely post giving me so much credit for painting your very special family crest plate.

  6. Hello Enchanted, We have a friend who does not like the scent of Paperwhites. They do have a very distinct smell...luckily I like the perfume for I could not imagine the holidays without paperwhites. Have a wonderful holiday season, Gina.

  8. Hi, Gina - Whenever you show off your flowers, fruti and vegetables, I always enjoy seeing tantalizing fragments of your ceramics and decorations decorations. Today I spot a tile that looks like a tapestry design!

  9. Dear Lala, It does not take "green fingers" to put a few bulbs into soil. They grow without any help from us. Only a ltle water now and then. Anyone who can sew as expertly as you can and one who creates such bautiful objects as you have should have no trouble with flowers.
Wishing you and Mon Chreri a lovely holiday season. Gina

  10. Dear Mark, I'm guilty! There are many ceramics in my house. Not just those that I have painted but those that I have collected from our travels to Europe. I have always loved maiolica, even before I learned how to paint them.
I try not to overdo and keep many pieces out of sight and often I have to part with them, but I never forget a single one of them.
Again, Mark, you notice every detail. That is why you are such a fine artist.
