Dear Gina - what glorious photos - the pink and blue sky turning the snow into pink candy floss. You know the saying I am sure "red sky at night shepherds delight - red sky in the morning shepherds warning". We had a another load last night. We put our lights off indoors and put the lights on outside so that we could watch it magically falling. However, by Friday we will have had the snow for a week, and then I am going to send it back to where it came from.
Dear Merisi, The scene yesterday morning was just as you see it in my photographs. I did not enhance the color. Sometimes, mother nature is hard at work to make our lives more beautiful. ox, Gina
Your photos of the guest house with the pink sky are truly beautiful. The snow photo of your front garden and the orchard are stunning. Your snow is crisp and packed and pure.. it looks like a true picture painting. xx val
Dear Val, It has been so cold the last few weeks that our snow is still clean and crisp. More snow is predicted for today. And if it comes, my cross country skis are leaning up against the tree, ready to go sliding. ox, Gina
Lovely photographs, Gina. Did you know that when it freezes in Florida, the citrus growers spray their oranges with water. The ice around the oranges actually forms a shield against even colder temperatures.
Dear Mark, I am aware of the water spray treatment. That only works for us when the temperatures don't go down too far. Often, the ice gets so heavy on the branches that they break from the weight. In earlier times smudge pots helped but because of the damage to the environment, they are not in use anymore.
Thank you Frances. And thank you also for visiting and commenting. Hope that life is back to normal for you in New York. Loved your post where you showed us your fabulous knitting skills. ox, Gina
The reflection of the morning sky in your pond dotted with ducks is just so wonderful, Gina, as are the mountains in the background. What a view to wake up to. Warm greetings, Sieglinde
Hello Sieglinde, So nice to see you here again. Thank you so much for your very nice comment. We are lucky. We even appreciate this country life more because we used to live in the big city. ox, Gina
