Have a little fun.

And make it practical at the same time.

Cut out pear shapes from old Computer Mouse Pads or sheets of foam and use as Stamps.

Pears are always a good subject.

Or cut circle shape and make a pretty Christmas Card.

Paint circle stamp with acrylic paints and press onto paper.
You will get two to three images out of every print.

Use acrylic paints and paint the stamp with several and different colors.

Paper rolls printed with commercial stamps.

Find the paper rolls at paint stores.

Don't be shy about colors.  The more paint you use on the stamp the more of a "surprise" image you will get.

Have a great week dear friends.

  1. Gina, you've given us lots of fine ideas here! I remember carving some little stamps from erasers. Recently, when using okra in preparing some curries, I was quite taken with the design of the okra's cross section, and meant to save one end piece to see if it would work as a stamp.

Isn't it fun to be playful and experimental? xo

    1. Dear Frances, That would have been a great idea to use okra for a stamp. What makes the computer pad idea work is that it is somewhat porous which facilitates the absorption of paints. One thing I know is that if you experiment it leads to all kinds of other surprises.

    1. Dear Rosemary, The pear is such an iconic design that it fits any occasion. You would be surprised how easy it is to create your very own cards, your very own masterpiece.

  3. Your artistic nature gives us endless inspiration, it's hard however to materialise those ideas, at least me, I feel completely small and weak in front of your talent Gina!

    1. Dear Olympia, What I need to do is hop on a plane and show you how easy it is to create a few little art projects. The secret is to create the unexpected and not follow the traditional methods.

  4. Great ideas, Gina, very inspirational and it doesn't look too difficult even for those with limited talent.
Thanks for sharing your mini tutorial with the Mosaic Monday crowd this week.

    1. Hello Maggie, It really is very easy. The best part is that you never know what kind of print you have just created until you lift the stamp.

  5. Gina, I love your paint stamping. The old mouse pad is a really good idea. I did nature printing with leaves recently. The Christmas wreath is nice. I've been working on my cards. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hello Sylvia, It's good to have a box of blank cards and envelopes ready this time of year. A Christmas tree stamp is a good idea. After painting the stamp green you can add white paint on the tips and multicolored glass ornaments all at once.

  6. I never get bored looking at what you create...The pear stencil maker is a great idea. I am still trying to finish up my painted Christmas adornments I began last year... I really enjoy your work, I am just very slow at doing mine. Have a HAPPY Gina~
