What is it?

Have you used one of these?

Looks a bit dangerous, doesn't it.

I'm not much for gadgets but this one works.
I have used it every fruit season.
It saves hours of time.

It's an apple peeler.

By simply turning the handle it peels, slices and cores apples.

It also peels pears and potatoes.

All you have to do is add a little sugar to apple  slices and cook until soft.

Freeze or bottle.

You can even bake a loaf or two of
Apple Sauce Cake in the middle of winter.

I am curious.
How many of you have used this peeler ?
I would love to know.

Have a great week dear friends.

  1. I recognized it right away but admit I've never owned/used one Gina. I love old-fashioned gizmos such as this - often they do the job much better than the modern kitchen stuff. . . . . . . but I hope you've tried your stick blender and find it useful! For me that's probably the one kitchen gadget I use more than anything else, all those soups. . . . . . . along with my KitchenAid mixer!

As always, your lovely photos of the glorious things you've prepared in your kitchen, are a sight for sore eyes! You amaze me.
Love and hugs from still warm NC - another beautiful Autumn day here.

    1. Dear Mary,
I LOVE your stick blender. It has made many a breakfast drink and many creamy Fall soups. It is very handy and easy to use. Thank you for thinking of me.
Thank you also for your sweet compliments. I think you are amazing.

  2. I think I might invest in one as I do not like to peel apples for a pie. They can still be found at Tractor Supply or Atwood's. They are farming supply/feed stores. Chickens and ducks love those peels. Donna@gatheratthefarm

    1. Hello Donna,
You can purchase this apple peeler in many places. Walmart ($9) is one place and Amazon ($29) is another. I hope you decide to get one. If you peel a lot of apples these uncomplicated little machines are just the ticket.
For some reason our chickens don't like the apple peels. However, the apple cores are another matter.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. It is very much appreciated.
